Tax crimes are almost exclusively brought by the Federal Government. On very rare occasions the Louisiana Department of Revenue can refer a case to the Attorney General for criminal prosecution.
The Federal Government will prosecute tax evasion, tax fraud, structuring and a wide variety of other violations of the Internal Revenue Code. We have handled many Federal Tax cases and when necessary we hire expert witnesses to help us get through the complex maze of statues, rules and regulations.
